December 2009 Well despite the studio business being quiet around Christmas time, we were kept very busy. Big blue's Mix Room "Studio A" got a major overhaul. "Geebo" the Studio Manager, Kevin Neaton, Matt Messenger, Chris "NOS" Marinaccio, Chris "Kita" Larson, new intern "Heinz" and Nene spent 3 weeks taking all of the embedded outboard gear and rehousing it in a new rolling rack system. They built EDAC boxes on the walls and backs of the new racks and spent 12 hour days making new cables. The result is all the outboard gear is now plug in and play so to speak. This way the mix engineers can use new pieces of outboard in their mixes and are not limited to the embedded pieces which were always in the mix room. Post Hardcore/Rock band "At Daybreak" from Delran, NJ came in to record a new EP. It was tracked by Matthew "Debris" Menafro and mixed by Matthew "Dasher" Messenger and Rumblefish. The Tracks are currently at the mastering house, so you should be able to see them soon at the bands Myspace page http://www.myspace.com/atdaybreak Jeff "9/11" Canas finished tracking and commenced mixing with G-Dub and Tech in Studio C. A whopping 44 cuts of Hip Hop greatness. We'll keep you posted on his progress. 9/11 also tracked and mixed R & B singer "JR" in Studio C. Rumblefish commenced tracking keyboards on "The Tea Club's" mammoth Prog extravaganza. |
